Install the Guild Companion

  1. Open oldgods.io and choose Join the Old Gods if you need a member account. An administrator must assign your chapter and an appropriate management role before you can upload.
  2. Download the Windows installer. Linux and Mac packages are also on the home page.
  3. Run setup. It downloads the current package. If the Companion is running, setup asks you to close it before installation continues. Leave setup open, close the Companion, and continue.
  4. Launch the Companion and sign in with your website email and password. The service address is supplied by the installed package. You do not enter a chapter API key.
  5. Confirm the World of Warcraft retail folder. Keep addon updates enabled. Enable SavedVariables monitoring and guild uploads only on a machine authorized to submit chapter data.
  6. Start WoW and enable Old Gods Guild Audit. Use /oga. Reload the UI or log out normally so WoW writes the SavedVariables file.
  7. Return to the Companion and check its activity/queue for a successful upload. On the website, open your assigned chapter and check the last receipt time.

If an upload fails

Confirm your website account has a management assignment for the guild being uploaded. A read-only Member assignment cannot upload. An unregistered guild is skipped so other queued items can proceed; ask an administrator to check its guild name and technical realm. Report the error and version through Feedback.

Updates and retained data

Use the Companion updater or download the current installer. Keep your existing WoW SavedVariables and personal data. Do not delete them as an installation troubleshooting step.
